Proper Operation Checks

  1. Ensure the indicator needle in the pressure gauge is reading in the Operating Zone. If pressure does not build, contact your local distributor.

  2. Check the drain valve and filter valve for leaks.

  3. At the end of the cook cycle check for the following:

    • The timer sounds.

    • The fryer automatically depressurizes.

Checking the Filter Pump

Use the following testing procedure on new or old fryers.

  1. Ensure the fryer vat is empty of all oil and product.
  2. Open the front door of the fryer.

  3. NOTICE -

To avoid damage to the filter pump, only run the filter pump for a few seconds during testing.

  4. Turn the main power switch to the pump position. Open the filter valve. You will hear the electric motor running.

Place Thumb over Filter Union Flare

  5. Place your thumb over the open filter union flare. You should feel suction. If you do not, contact Henny Penny customer support or your local service technician.

  6. Close the filter valve. Turn off the pump.

NOTE: The electric motor bearings are permanently lubricated. Do not lubricate.

This completes the testing cycle. If any of the functions did not occur, recheck the installation. If a problem persists, refer to the other sections of this manual or call an authorized Henny Penny distributor.
