Troubleshooting the Cloud Connection

Use these steps to determine if you have a connection to the cloud (Internet).

Verifying Cloud Connection

  1. Verify the settings by navigating to: Menu > Advanced > Network Setup > Network Information.

  2. Setup Menu

  3. Review the Current Network Setup:

    • Cloud connection: [ex., Connected] displays the state of the radio, whether connected or disconnected.

  4. Depending on what is displayed, do the following:

    • If not connected and all other verifications have been performed:

      • Install a cellular gateway to determine if the issue is with the customer's network.

      • Contact Technical Service for assistance.

Connecting to the Access Point

IMPORTANT: The McDonald’s eBOS network requires whitelisting of the dongle's MAC address 24 hours in advance of installation. This allows for Internet connectivity, which is required for certificate download. Also, an Internet connection signal strength at or below -80 dBm is required.

Use these steps to verify connection to the cloud.

Setup Enabled

  1. Once the network is enabled, additional options display, tap Connect.

  2. WiFi Network

  3. Tap a radio button next to the desired access point (router name) to connect.

  4. IMPORTANT: An Internet connection signal strength at or below -80 dBm is required. A poor connection may not allow the certificate to download properly.

NOTE: If option “Select to type network name” is selected, a keyboard will display. Enter the name of the network, an approved Security type, and password if required.
