Gas Pilot and Burner Operation
NOTE: The pilot flame is preset at the factory. If adjustment is necessary, contact your local independent Henny Penny distributor.
Lighting the Burner - Solid State Ignition

The vat should be cleaned per Cleaning the Vat.

The vat must be filled to the proper level with oil.

Turn off electrical power using the switch at the front of the control panel.
If the gas valve has an on/off switch proceed to step 4.
For all other gas valves, proceed to step 7.

Turn the gas valve knob counterclockwise to the off position ( off pointed down).

Wait at least 5 minutes to allow any gas which may have accumulated in the burner compartment to escape.

Turn the gas valve knob clockwise to on position (on pointed down).

Turn the main power switch to Power position.

Wait about 45 seconds for the burner to light.

Listen for the gas burner ignition. It will be an audible sound due to the gas igniting at the gas jets within the burner.

The burner lights and operates until the oil temperature reaches a preset temperature, and the Ready LED lights.
Shutting Down the Burner

Do one of the following:

For gas valves with an on/off switch, turn the gas valve power switch to the Off position and then turn the control panel power switch to the Off position.

For all other gas valves, skip to step 2.

Turn the gas valve knob counterclockwise to the off position.
