Operating the ODS 400 with 4 Head 500 and 600 Series Pressure Fryers

To avoid severe burns and equipment damage:

  • Use PPE.

  • Ensure filter pain is empty prior to removing from unit.

  • Allow oil to cool to 100°F (38°C) or below before draining. Pumping hot oil through the unit damages the pump over time.

  • Use only an approved oil shuttle to transport oil to be discarded.

To avoid personal injury:

  • Use PPE

  • Do not overfill the oil disposal shuttle.

The ODS holds approximately half the volume of oil contained in the vat. To prevent splashing and spillage, drain no more than half of the oil in to the ODS at one time.

Burn Risk

To avoid burns, use PPE when connecting to or disconnecting from oil disposal unit.

To avoid personal injury, ensure cover is in place before moving shuttle.

  1. Move the fryer main power switch to the OFF position.

  2. Remove and empty the condensation drain pan.

  3. Disconnect the filter union and remove the filter pan from under the vat.

  4. Release cover latch, and hinge back cover on oil disposal shuttle. Make sure crumb catcher is in place.

  5. Using the “funnel” on the back of the handle, place it over the opening of the shuttle.

  6. Roll oil disposal shuttle under fryer until the stop brackets on both sides of the shuttle contacts the frame. This assures drain aligns with opening in shuttle.

  7. Turn drain handle and drain oil into shuttle.
