Decommissioning Fryers
A fryer should be decommissioned when one of the following occur:
- 
                                                            
There is no documentation (i.e. Inspection Tag or Proof of Inspection) of the Annual Pressure Fryer Safety Inspection.
 - 
                                                            
There are any conditions that could be potentially hazardous that would prevent the Pressure Fryer from being operated safely.
 
Steps to Decommission Fryer
- 
                                                            
Remove all food items from the fryer.
 - 
                                                            
Filter the fryer, if possible.
 - 
                                                            
After filtration, drain oil into suitable container for oil storage or dispose oil accordingly.
 - 
                                                            
Turn off fryers from the main ON/OFF switch. This is located on the front panel of the fryer.
 - 
                                                            
Turn off circuit breaker or unplug the unit.
 - 
                                                            
Wipe down the exterior and accessories of fryer within safety limits.
 - 
                                                            
Indicate with a brand approved "Do not use" sign or similar on the fryer.
 - 
                                                            
Notify Area Manager of the decommissioning and escalate accordingly.
